At Erika Maram, every creative project is thoughtfully planned, with dedicated studio time reserved specifically for each client. We understand that plans can change, and our cancellation and refund policies are designed to provide clarity, fairness, and transparency throughout the process.
This page provides a general overview of what to expect when booking our creative services. Before beginning a project, clients receive an agreement outlining the specific scope, payment schedule, cancellation terms, and responsibilities associated with their project.
01. Project Deposits & Payments
A deposit is required to secure your project and reserve time on our studio calendar. Deposits are non-refundable because they compensate the studio for reserving availability and preparing for your project.
The deposit amount and remaining payment schedule will be outlined in your individual project agreement.
Payments for services already performed are non-refundable, subject to the terms of your agreement and applicable law.
02. Project Cancellation
We understand that circumstances may change. If you need to cancel a project, please submit your request in writing to [email protected].
Cancellation terms depend on how far your project has progressed.
Before Your Project Begins
If you cancel before your scheduled Project Start Date, your deposit will be retained. No additional cancellation fee will apply.
After Your Project Has Started
If you cancel after work has begun but before preliminary designs, concepts, or drafts have been presented, you will be responsible for:
- The cost of services performed through the cancellation date.
- A cancellation fee equal to 25% of the remaining unpaid project fee.
After Preliminary Designs Are Presented
If you cancel after preliminary concepts, drafts, or designs have been presented but before the final deliverables are completed, you will be responsible for:
- The cost of services performed through the cancellation date.
- A cancellation fee equal to 50% of the remaining unpaid project fee.
After Project Completion
Once all final deliverables have been completed, the full project fee remains due, even if the deliverables have not yet been approved, published, or used.
All previous payments will be credited toward the amounts owed. Any outstanding cancellation balance must be paid within seven (7) days.
Cancellation fees are intended to account for reserved studio time and lost booking opportunities. If replacement work is booked for the same reserved calendar period, any applicable reduction will be calculated according to your agreement.
03. Refunds
Because our services are customized and require dedicated creative work, refunds are not available for completed services or non-refundable deposits, except where required by applicable law or provided in your agreement.
If a project is canceled, payments already received will be applied toward services performed and any applicable cancellation fees.
If the amount paid exceeds the total amount properly owed, the difference will be refunded.
If We Are Unable to Fulfill Our Agreement
If Erika Maram materially fails to fulfill its contractual obligations and cannot resolve the issue within the applicable five-business-day correction period after written notice, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for services not yet provided.
No cancellation fee applies when a client properly terminates an agreement because of an uncured material breach by the studio.
04. Project Rescheduling
If you need to change your scheduled Project Start Date, please notify us as soon as possible.
We allow one complimentary reschedule when requested at least seven (7) days before your original Project Start Date, subject to studio availability.
Additional rescheduling requests, or requests made fewer than seven (7) days before your scheduled start date, will incur a $300 rescheduling fee.
Rescheduled projects are placed on our calendar according to current availability, and original completion dates may need to be adjusted.
05. Paused & Inactive Projects
Consistent communication and timely feedback help us keep your project moving forward.
If requested materials, feedback, or approvals are not received for ten (10) consecutive business days after a written reminder, your project may be paused or canceled with written notice.
If a paused project resumes, a $250 reactivation and rescheduling fee applies, and the project will be placed back on our calendar according to availability.
Projects that remain paused or inactive for thirty (30) consecutive days automatically expire under the applicable agreement.
To restart an expired project, a new agreement and updated pricing may be required. Payments previously made will be retained, subject to the agreement and applicable law. Any applicable cancellation fees may also remain due.
06. Ongoing & Recurring Services
Ongoing creative services require thirty (30) days' written notice for cancellation.
Clients remain responsible for services and payments through the notice period, as outlined in their agreement.
07. Deliverables Upon Cancellation
Ownership and usage rights for final custom deliverables are transferred only after all required payments have been received, as outlined in your project agreement.
If a project is canceled before completion, unfinished designs, drafts, preliminary concepts, and working files remain the property of Erika Maram unless otherwise specified in writing.
Delivery of any completed or partially completed work following cancellation is subject to the applicable agreement and payment requirements.
